Grand Canyon University is seeking a Campus Recreation Facility Coordinator. The coordinator is responsible for the operation and management support of the Fitness Centers located around campus, including in the Residence Hall buildings. They will lead hiring, training, and managing the student worker staff that provide support to the Fitness Centers on campus. What you will do: Supervision and leadership of campus recreation fitness centers. Hire, train and supervise student worker staff. Manage fitness equipment repairs with campus facility team and or outside vendors. Work on enforcing and creating polices that ensure healthy and safe fitness center environment. Help coordinate custodial needs with facility department. Help provide good communication to student participants about fitness center programming and services. All other duties as assigned. What you need: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution. 2 or more years related work experience in the Campus Recreation or other closely related field. Strong planning and organizational skills. Experience in successfully leading a team of students. Ability to develop effective relationships with students/individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds. Experience in communications and collaboration with a diverse campus population with good conflict resolution/mediation skills.
