Job Title: College of Humanities and Social Sciences- Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (NFWS)
Position Summary/Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Instructor and the students within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences courses. The college features a variety of programs from counseling and psychology to justice studies, history, and English literature.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.

• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
• Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance, and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession
• Assists instruction with in-class activities, including proctoring examinations.
• Observes students' performance, and records relevant data to aid the instructor in assessing progress
• Coordinates study groups outside of class to tutor students on class material
• Assists with grading assignments
• Proctor occasional make-up examinations/assignments

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

• MS Office

Qualifications:

• Completed at least 72 credits toward undergraduate degree.
• Junior/Senior standing.
• Must have sufficient courses in discipline of assistance needed as well as having received a grade of B or higher in each
• Received a faculty recommendation.
• Complete FERPA training.
• Cannot hold another student worker position on campus

Experience/Education:

• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
• Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
