Job Title: College of Humanities and Social Sciences- Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (NFWS) Position Summary/Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Instructor and the students within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences courses. The college features a variety of programs from counseling and psychology to justice studies, history, and English literature. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions: Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.
Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance, and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession
Assists instruction with in-class activities, including proctoring examinations.
Observes students' performance, and records relevant data to aid the instructor in assessing progress
Coordinates study groups outside of class to tutor students on class material
Completed at least 72 credits toward undergraduate degree.
Junior/Senior standing.
Must have sufficient courses in discipline of assistance needed as well as having received a grade of B or higher in each
Received a faculty recommendation.
Complete FERPA training.
Cannot hold another student worker position on campus

Experience/Education: Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
