Quality Manger

Grand Traverse Machine is seeking an experienced Quality Manager. Full-time, Monday – Friday. Individual will have excellent communication skills – verbal, written, listening – are a must. Position requires a strong work ethic and high standards for quality, organization, and workmanship. Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to maintain and improve quality systems. We are looking for an individual that is proficient with ISO 9001:2015, lean manufacturing, FMEA, PPAP, new job configuration, ASTM and ISO specs, training, work instructions, corrective actions, etc.

Minimum Quality Manager responsibilities.

ISO Coordinator – Maintain ISO 9001-2015 initiatives

Authorized to document, implement, and maintain the QMS. Communicates quality goals to the company and facilitates discussion of the Quality Management System with senior management via Management Reviews.

Oversee audit program.

Manage in-house quality issues.

Develop and maintain Quality and Manufacturing Work Instructions.

Interpret machine tool prints (GD&T knowledge) and determine gage requirements.

Oversee Crib sheet(s); draft new or modify existing.

Promote modern standards of manufacturing and continuous improvement of all quality and process metrics.

Manage Q.A. Inspection department and staff.

Customer Liaison.

Develop and maintain positive customer relationships.

Manage complaints; develop and document corrective actions.

Develop and maintain documents to satisfy special customer requirements.

Oversee 1st Run Sample Inspections

Provide Part Approval Process (Control Plans), Routing, method of inspection/frequency and certification.

Supplier Liaison

Resolve and document supplier quality issues.

Advise on disposition of suspect or defective parts.

Determine root cause for defect.

Develop containment and sort criteria.

Initiate preventive action.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
