Gravity Diagnostics is Hiring a LIS Analyst Near Covington, KY

Department: Information Technology
Reports to: LIS Applications Manager
Pay Group: Non-Exempt
Job Summary: As the LIS Analyst, you will be responsible for analysis, design, configuration/build and testing/validation of laboratory information systems and their components. This includes data gathering and analysis of methods and procedures, design recommendations, and implementation and support involving systems testing and user training. The LIS Analyst supports the clinical lab and provides system building, testing and implementation, analytical, educational and system support/maintenance for laboratory information systems. Specific duties may include clinical test configuration/build, performing annual system validations, monitoring external interfaces to reference labs and auditing billing information.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • System implementation and integration:
    • Lead the implementation of laboratory information systems, including software configuration, customization, new clinical tests/instrumentation and integration with existing systems.
    • Collaborate with laboratory staff, IT colleagues and vendors to ensure seamless integration and functionality of LIS with other systems and workflows.
  • System maintenance and support:
    • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the LIS including troubleshooting technical issues, performing system updates and ensuring data integrity.
    • Develop and implement procedures for backup, recovery and disaster recovery to minimize system downtime and data loss
  • User training and documentation:
    • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for laboratory staff on the proper use of the LIS and related tools.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, system configurations and troubleshooting guides.
  • Data management and reporting:
    • Design and implement data management strategies to ensure accurate and timely capture, storage and retrieval of laboratory data.
    • Generate custom reports and dashboards to meet the needs of laboratory management and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality assurance and compliance:
    • Perform regular audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, such as CLIA, CAP, HIPAA and FDA applicable regulations.
    • Work closely with regulatory agencies and internal compliance teams to address any issues or concerns related to LIS functionality and data management.
  • System optimization and enhancement:
    • Identify opportunities for system optimization and enhancement to improve efficiency, productivity and user experience.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and implement system enhancements, upgrades, new features and new or changed clinical tests/instruments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:

Education and Experience:
  • Medical Technologist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist with at least 2 years’ experience.
  • Associate degree or higher.
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience working as a LIS Analyst (Orchard OEL Outreach, OEL Clinical and OEL Molecular are preferred LIS systems).
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift-up to 25 pounds.
