Job Summary/Description:

WOWT has an immediate opening for an experienced News Anchor for our weekend morning newscasts. The ideal candidate has a passion for broadcast journalism and will deliver the news in an engaging, energetic manner. This candidate will also report during the week. WOWT is looking for a candidate who will make a positive contribution in the newsroom and community as a whole.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Anchor Saturday/Sunday morning newscasts
• Preparation of material for delivery of newscasts
• Developing and reporting stories
• Heavy social engagement with viewers
• Posting stories to the website
• Public appearances on behalf of the station
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism or related field
• At least 2 years experience as a news anchor
• Must have solid people skills and be able to function in a “team” environment.
• Ability to operate under constant deadline pressure.
• Ability to deliver news content in a clear and professional manner
• Strong writing skills and ability to write accurately and creatively under constant deadline pressure.
