Job Summary/Description:
WNDU is looking for a National/Regional Sales Manager to lead our national and political sales efforts. The NSM/RSM will negotiate the largest share of National business possible within the boundaries of the rate structure. This position super-serves National clients and agencies to continue to position WNDU for maximum revenue opportunities in the Linear, Digital, and OTT space and contribute to top-line revenue.
Duties/Responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
•Own and manage all political, national, and regional advertising sales efforts including negotiations and transactions, and public files.
•Attain or exceed assigned budget and achieve estimated market share goals for all billing types.
•Develop incremental revenue opportunities within new and existing national/regional advertisers as they relate to all platforms.
•Work closely with the Director of Sales and Local / Digital Sales Manager in pricing and managing inventory to effectively sell WNDU to all accounts - regional and national.
•Plan, develop, and execute a strategy to achieve revenue goals by increasing shares of business for WNDU on existing and new accounts.
•Act as a marketing consultant to national & regional accounts utilizing station marketing and merchandising materials in developing marketing plans, co-promotions, and vendor programs.
•Negotiate effectively and secure NTR/sponsorship/Enterprise opportunities.
•Coach and lead the Major Account Executives by participating in client meetings, building relationships with top regional clients, and being active in the community.
•Ensure the national sales team continually positions the audience for rate and share of business.
•Respond expediently to avails and/or assign accordingly and work to maximize all Paid Programming avails and placement.
•Track performance and monitor and approve all new, revised, and canceled National orders.
•Oversee pre-logs, posts, pre-empts, make goods, and Accounts Receivable.
•Travel to build and maintain successful relationships with buyers, planners, and clients.
•Assist the Director of Sales with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
•Minimum 5-7 years of broadcast sales and account engagement.
•Track record of successfully achieving or exceeding national or regional sales goals in the broadcast TV sales industry within fast-changing, dynamic environments.
•A proven track record of packaging and selling sports and special sponsorships along with other premium programming and products.
•Fluency in the rules and regulations surrounding politics for candidates and issue advertisers.
•Established leadership skills and elite sales and customer service skills
•Strategic thinker and disciplined executor comfortable developing and making recommendations to senior management.
•Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Wide Orbit Sales, Salesforce, Wide Orbit Traffic & Wide Orbit Analytics, ComScore, Nielsen, Matrix, Media Monitors, and qualitative data.
•Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure.
•Strong presenter and communicator with internal and external customers and partners.
•Ability to effectively solve problems.
•Attention to detail and accuracy.
