Job Summary/Description:
WSAW-TV, the CBS affiliate in Wausau, WI is looking for a talented photojournalist and editor, who is ready to join our award-winning morning news team.
Duties include assisting our newscast and digital content producers in editing video for newscasts, shooting and gathering information in the field for scheduled events and breaking news, and writing for our TV newscasts and digital platforms, including wsaw.com and our social media platforms. This is an entry-level position and an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door, while learning from the best journalists in the market.
Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Editing video on a non-linear platform
- Shooting and gathering information in the field
- Operating TVU gear and Laptop editors
- Collaborating with reporters and producers on stories
- Posting content and video to our digital platforms
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Be available to work 3am-12pm
- Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Be strong writers, able to use correct spelling and grammar
- Be capable of working under pressure and meeting daily deadlines in a high energy environment
- Have good communication skills
- Have solid news judgement
- Have the ability to multi-task efficiently
- Be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with ENPS, Grass Valley Edius, Sony XDCAM cameras and Arc Publishing preferred
