Schedule: Fulltime (1.0 FTE)
Position Summary:
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments to specialists. Contact insurance companies to ensure prior
approval requirements are met.

Contact specialist offices to schedule appointments for patients.
Schedule procedures/surgeries.
Contact insurance companies for prior approvals and ensure that prior
authorizations are done before procedures are done.
Document in EMR when, where and who the appointment is set up with.
Contact patients to notify them of appointments and document in EMR
that the patient has been notified.
Inform referring provider of appointment.
Provide the specialist office with all required medical information including
history, diagnosis, prognosis, lab and any related test results.
Ensure that referrals are addressed in a timely manner.
Assist patients in problem solving potential issues related to health care
system, financial or social barriers (e.g., request transportation
assistance).
Assists with other medical office needs, answering telephone, registering
patients, including checking patients in when needed.
** Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks
