Position: Senior Project EngineerReports To: Project ManagerDepartment: Project ManagementFLSA Status: ExemptPosition Value PropositionThe Project Coordinator assists in managing the flow of technical information between the Graywolf Project Management team, customers, subcontractors and vendors, while developing critical relationships with internal and external clients, through verbal and written communication.Core Responsibilities:
  • Aids the Project Management Team in achieving successful project results.
  • Serve as a direct link between Project Managers, production departments, customer, other contractors, and Design Team as may be required.
  • Monitors project schedule development regarding submittals, engineering, procurement, and construction. Identify and communicate possible delays or problems to project management team.
  • Coordinates and reviews development of 3D BIM Models, design drawings, and advance bills of material for accuracy and completeness, and coordinates resolution of discrepancies, missing information and/or coordination issues with customers, design team, other trades, detailing, shop, & field as may be necessary.
  • Manages utilization of BIM360 (or similar) for the transmittal of documents and models for collaboration with project stakeholders.
  • Manages creation and utilization of Advance Work Packages (AWP) using the project model.
  • Monitors, informs, and manages project progress and cost tracking tools and assembles required reporting for project management and executive teams.
  • Manages RFI process through formal RFI’s to customer or general contractor and informal RFI’s with subcontractors, vendors, and others. Facilitates and fulfills other documentation efforts and duties and as may be required.
  • Distribute and route project documents. Work closely with Document Control to avoid delays and maintain logs.
  • Act as a liaison between shop, field, and subcontractors to resolve fabrication and erection difficulties.
  • Assists Project Manager with contact and subcontract administration.
  • Manages field engineers and project controls clerks.
  • This position requires travel to design and coordination meetings, fabrication facilities and job sites.
  • Work closely with Operations Management to assist with selection and training of incoming and current Project Coordinators and/or Project Coordinator Trainee’s

Education/TrainingHigh School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree or training from an approved and accredited technical school in engineering or detailing/drafting may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Structural/Civil Engineering, or Business may substitute for 3 years of the required experience.Work Experience5-7 years of experience in the coordination and scheduling of heavy industrial and structural steel projects is preferred, including experience with CPM scheduling and 3D modeling. Associates degree or training from an approved and accredited technical school in engineering or detailing/drafting may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Structural/Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or Business may substitute for 3 years of the required experience.Specialized KnowledgeAbility to read and interpret shop and erection drawings. General understanding and knowledge of basic drafting skills, 3D modeling software/Tekla practices, fabrication and erection standards, standard technical terminology, common construction practices, and drafting room procedures.Software, Technology and Equipment usedPersonal Computer; phone; Computer Software includes: MS Windows, MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams; Contract Manager, Primavera Scheduling, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, Smartplant 3D, Fabtrol and Tekla systems.
