Graza is looking for a Category Development Manager to join our Sales team, on a mission to unlock incremental distribution and maximum growth in the Olive Oil category. This role is a hybrid position based in Austin, TX. The Category Development Manager is a full-time, salaried position, reporting to the Head of Sales.

Role Purpose

We are seeking a Category Development Manager to own Category Management at Graza, developing retail insights, reporting processes, and acting as an innovation project manager.

Role Responsibilities

- Innovation & Project Management

• Act as project management hub for innovation pricing, specs, and go to market strategy
• Collaborate with Finance and Sales to determine and optimize price pack architecture, pricing, and promo strategy
• Conduct market research to inform new product development, messaging, and market opportunity through developing knowledge base of categories, competitors, and target retailers

- Category Management

• Own internal and external data reporting processes, maintaining a reporting cadence and executive data summary to keep the team informed
• Identify Retail Sales opportunities, including distribution gaps, white space in market, and merchandising, to support Graza sales initiatives, through syndicated and shipment data analysis
• Lead pricing and promo analysis initiatives, to ensure strategies remain competitive and effective in market
• Create and maintain selling stories through determining the most compelling scan and shipment data insights
• Provide analytics support on an ad hoc basis, to inform strategy and decision-making across departments

Qualifications

• 3 years experience in CPG Sales and/or Category Management required
• Proficiency with CPG syndicated data portals and reporting, including SPINS, Nielsen, and/or Numerator required
• Proficiency working with and distilling large data sets in Excel, including pivot tables required
• Proven experience creating clear data stories in Powerpoint and/or Google Slides required
• Proficiency with direct customer and distributor data (i.e. UNFI, KeHE, Whole Foods Market, Target, and Walmart)
• Knowledge of the olive oil category is a plus!
