As the Landscape Supply and Concrete Dealer Yard Manager in Kalamazoo, MI, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operations of the landscape supply yard, with a focus on concrete and stone products. Your role will involve managing inventory, coordinating with vendors, ensuring quality control, and providing excellent customer service. This position requires a strong understanding of landscaping materials and concrete products, as well as excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Operations Management:

Oversee day-to-day operations including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment

• Be able to develop a weekly schedule for self, tasks, and teams
• Must be able to operate a wheel loader.
• Be able to develop creative solutions to fix daily operation problems.

Inventory Management:

• Oversee the inventory of landscape and concrete products, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet customer demand.
• Monitor stock movement and prevent shortages or overstock situations.

Vendor Relations:

• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors for landscape and concrete demand.

Quality Control:

• Implement and enforce quality control measures for concrete products and landscaping materials.

Team Leadership:

• Must be self-motivated and able to lead and motivate yard staff by fostering a positive work environment.

Safety Compliance:

• Ability to calculate and enforce max shipment weights and ensure safe loading procedures.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Schedule the maintenance and repair of equipment, including loaders, and the other yard machinery.

Sales Support:

• Track and record estimates, leads, and sales opportunities in the Sales Force.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in landscape supply and concrete product management.
• Strong knowledge of landscaping materials and concrete products.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Leadership experience in a similar setting.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in the landscape and concrete industry.
