OUR MARKET POSITION

Great Minds’ Eureka Math is the most widely used curriculum in the history of American education. It enjoys an unrivaled 40 net promoter score. Eureka and its sister products, Wit & Wisdom English and PhD Science, embrace much higher expectations for all students and all teachers. In a market dominated by scripted, procedural materials that drive expectations down, Great Minds produces curricula that celebrate knowledge, respect the craft of teaching, and acknowledge the true capabilities of students.

Job Purpose

The Resource Manager supports the PMO by partnering closely with both project and team leadership to anticipate, identify, and problem-solve labor resource needs for projects within a designated team or set of teams. The Resource Manager facilitates staffing assignments and communicates capacity for future work, ensuring that resource capacity informs prioritization and future project decision-making.

This position is an exceptional opportunity for a highly organized and collaborative individual who possesses a commitment to Great Minds’ organizational vision and who has a proven track record of relationship-building and problem-solving skills. While the work is remote and the ideal candidate will work well independently, this is a highly collaborative position, necessitating a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation.

Responsibilities

  • Partners closely with PMO and team leadership to plan for labor resources across projects within a designated team or set of teams; facilitates the assignment of specific staff members to new projects in collaboration with team leadership and managers, striving for efficiencies as well as balanced workloads
  • Builds knowledge of skillsets and constraints to inform staffing assignments
  • Populates Staffing Management Plan templates for each active project that utilizes the team’s capacity in partnership with the PMO project team
  • Collaborates with the PMO project team during the project planning phase to ensure project workflows align with resource availability
  • Conducts proactive meetings to review staffing assignments and upcoming projects with team leadership and/or managers as well as PMO stakeholders
  • Proactively identifies potential resource risks within the supported suite of projects and proposes solutions to address those risks
  • Maintains acute awareness of active project resource allocations and addresses changes across projects as needed
  • Initiates timely conversations to plan for the reallocation of resources as existing project work is anticipated to finish in order to minimize gaps in utilization
  • Participates in the longer-term resource projections process for annual budgeting needs
  • Ensures that maintenance and non-project work within the team is represented in the Resource Management platform
  • Cultivates strong working relationships with cross-functional professionals throughout the organization
  • Other resource-related support as needed

Requirements

  • 3 years working in project management, data analysis, staffing, or related work
  • Excellent interpersonal interaction skills (effective communication, negotiation, the ability to be diplomatic)
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to facilitate collaborative conversations and offer multiple ways to solve an issue
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PPT), Microsoft SharePoint, or other similar collaboration software
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience analyzing data and interpreting results
  • Experience with project management principles and, ideally, Smartsheet or similar project management software
  • Sound organizational habits, necessary for successful goal setting, collaborative problem solving, deadline execution, and record keeping
  • Exceptional time management skills

Preferred

  • Successful working independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to remain flexible in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Receptive to feedback with a focus on reflective practice
