Description

Floating position will have a flexible schedule, able to cover Account Service Representative duties at multiple bank branches. Primary supervisor will manage the work schedule between the various branches primarily in the OKC metro area.

Summary: Responsible for interviewing and engaging prospective customers inquiring about opening new accounts, such as savings accounts, checking accounts, and certificate of deposits. Gathers all appropriate information to open account and educate account holders on company or bank policies. Also responsible for teller transactions, which includes handling customer financial transactions like deposits, withdrawals, transfers, money orders, and loan payments. These duties also may include counting cash, answering phones, filing paperwork, and balancing at the end of the day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Performs customer service duties including but not limited to: answering the telephone and handling customer inquiries both by phone and in person.
  • Confers with customers to identify needs and explain types of banking services available such as CDs, online banking, Treasury Management, loans, etc.
  • Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements.
  • Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
  • Enters customers' transactions into computer to memo post transactions, and issues teller machine and manually generated receipts.
  • Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
  • Orders daily supply of cash, and counts incoming cash.
  • Balances currency and coin in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on teller machine and/or other corresponding reports.
  • Opens checking, savings, certificate of deposits, safe deposit boxes and other miscellaneous new accounts.
  • Assists customers in filling out new account forms and/or completes forms for customers.
  • Processes new debit card applications, orders cards, and maintains customer files.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing collection items.
  • Processes branch daily insufficient checks online.
  • Orders customer checks and pays invoices.
  • Performs customer wire transfer services.
  • Processes forms received in person or by mail. Files forms.
  • Cross train in other areas of the bank, including loan assistant duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities at this time, although future supervisory opportunities are possible.

Education and/or Experience

Associates degree from two-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office software.

Physical Demands

This position may require long periods of standing or sitting and may include long periods of typing and repetitive motion. Candidates must possess the ability to lift and carry cash drawers, coin bags, and boxes sometimes weighing as much as 25 pounds. The environment would be consistent with a typical business office with moderate noise, services open to the public and the ability to work in a confined area typically indoors.
