Assembly Manager – Abilene, KS

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Manufacturing, is currently seeking an Assembly Managerto join our team at our Abilene location. This position will be responsible for the entire assembly operation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Ability to lead and organize daily workflow for efficient production flow to a high standard of quality
• Understand and administer all company and safety policies
• Foster a workplace environment consistent with the values and mission of the company
• Work closely with others to collaborate on completion of common goals to achieve company metrics
• Drive culture of Lean Manufacturing and implementation of change to streamline processes
• Create environment that encourages communication, suggestions, problem solving, and cost improvements 
• Follow all Great Plains and OSHA regulations and wear all prescribed PPE as required.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment. 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications: 

• Previous work experience as an Assembly Manager or Assembly Supervisor
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts and ability to lead change initiatives
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment and remain results oriented
• Strong computer skills including familiarity with MRP and working knowledge of AS400
• Have a good understanding of lean/continuous improvement and ability to lead improvement initiatives
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with staff and work within team environment
• Possess strong employee development and people skills
