Qualifications and Requirements:
· DOJ Live Scan Clearance
· Tuberculosis Clearance or Risk Assessment (Completed by a licensed healthcare provider).
· Mandatory School Employee Training
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Management experience preferred
· Early Childhood Education Credits, child care or education background preferred.
Summary of Position:
Under the supervision of the Great Valley Academy Coordinator of Ed Options, the SMARTtime Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing: program operations, daily schedules for staff and children, and various additional programs. Perform a variety of customer services for our students, parents, and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Coordinates daily activities and lesson plans
· Planning and implementation of Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP) requirements
· Review program activities with SMARTtime Aides for effective program implementation
· Supervises children, with first priority their safety
· Instruct students on the safe and proper use of supplies and equipment
· Implement discipline techniques and classroom management
· Assist in maintaining a healthy, safe, and clean environment indoors and out
· Inspect the school site and the equipment for safety hazards and taking corrective action
· Treats each child with dignity and respect
· Supervises and facilitates curriculum activities and areas to promote positive learning and experiences for the children in a harmonious, safe and caring environment
· Sets and maintains appropriate standards for the children’s behavior using non-punitive methods that teach self-discipline while supporting children’s self-esteem
· Responsible for recruitment, hiring, supervising, and training all SMARTtime staff
· Fosters and maintains cooperative relationships with all other staff members
· Interact professionally and appropriately with parents, teachers and school staff
· Demonstrate good character in all interactions with children, parents and fellow staff
· Promotes mutual respect and model’s problem-solving skills
· Respect the confidentiality of school-related incidents and information
· Observes time and work schedules, punctuality and attendance
· Coordinate calendars and employee hours
· Performs minor first aid, may administer medication
· Consults with Campus Administration and the Coordinator of Ed options when difficult or unfamiliar situations arise, including student program suspensions
· Conveys staff concerns to the Coordinator of Ed Options
· Administers necessary staff meetings and trainings
· Maintains and works within the established budget
· Works with parents to collect fees/billings for the program on a timely basis
· Demonstrate management skills, decision-making, problem solving, and program evaluations
· Carry out oral and written directions, read, write, and speak at a level sufficient to fulfill the duties to be performed.
· Operate a computer and other office equipment
· Comply with all Great Valley Academy policies and procedures.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Employees in this position must be able/have the ability to:
· See for the purposes monitoring students and reading printed materials.
· Hear and understand speech at normal levels.
· Stand or work at a desk for extended periods of time.
· Stand for extended periods of time inside and outside.
· Stand, walk, twist, stoop, kneel, and bend over.
· Reach overhead, grasp, and push/pull.
· Lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds at waist height for short distances.
· Maintain a professional personal appearance as representative to the public for the program.
Work Environment:
· Employees in this position will be required to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
· Employees will come in direct contact with students, parents, school site staff and public.
