Controller
Description
Great Western Building Systems seeks a highly motivated and experienced Controller to join our team. The Controller will oversee the ordering, storing, organization, receiving, and distributing processes of Great Western Building Systems’ materials and supplies.
The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has strong communication skills. The controller should be able to work independently, and effectively teach and manage others to ensure their data is accurate and timely.
Responsibilities
Monitor all accounts using NetSuite
Strategically manage cash flow
Maximize profits and minimize losses through strategic management
Obtain payments from delinquent accounts
Devise and enforce protocols to minimize/eliminate delinquent accounts
Maintain accurate daily records
Create and implement methodology to safety transition to ACH bill payments through NetSuite
Take advantage of early pay discounts
Monitor inventory valuations, and work closely with the Inventory Manager to ensure accuracy of records and inventory levels
Monitor purchasing to ensure just in time inventory supports production, and that cost comparisons and vendor competition are leveraged to maintain and improve margins
Monitor human resources pay strategies to ensure they can stay within budget
Oversee payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable staff and their entries to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Train and implement purchase approval process for all supplies that is tracked and managed in NetSuite
Teach staff to create and enter their own expense reports, and to upload the required documentation for approval
Implement segmentation as appropriate to improve and streamline the readability of reports
Partner with the General Manager and President to create strategic plan, forecasts, and budgets
Hold departments accountable for their budgets
Monitor sales tax records and payments and maintain compliance with various local, state and federal tax laws
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government accounting requirements
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
Licensed CPA a plus
Knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and best practices
Proficient using accounting software and utilizing other software tools
Strong record-keeping and organizational skills
Critical-thinking skills to establish actions plans and routinely assess their effectiveness
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Compensation and Benefits
$75,000 - $105,000/year, depending on experience
