We are seeking a caring, compassionate individual who has experience caring for children ages six weeks to two years who would like to be a substitute. We are committed to providing top-quality care and education for children who are enrolled in our program. Our goal is to enhance the lives of every child that attends our facility. If you are a patient, caring individual with childcare experience, we hope you will get in touch about this position. The position will typically assist with the following:

• Physical care of infant/toddler (including diapering, feeding, and cleanliness);
• Following an age-appropriate curriculum;
• Ensure the safety of the children, and cleanliness of the classroom, and treat each child with dignity and respect for his/her cultural background;
• Interact with each child on a daily basis through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc.;
• Utilize effective classroom management;
• Maintain quality results by following and enforcing standards;

• Be at least 18 years old;
• High school degree or GED;
• Relevant previous daycare experience working with children in a licensed or accredited daycare, childcare center, or preschool;
• Caring and compassionate attitude a must;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills;
• Must have critical thinking, monitoring, negotiating, and learning skills;
• Ability to convey a dynamic, energetic, and fun-loving spirit;
• Must have problem-solving and creativity skills;
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle pressure;
• Successful reference, background check, and drug/alcohol clearance;
• Acknowledgment of, and agreement with, the School's Community Covenant and Statement of Faith.

Physical Requirements:

In order to create a safe and dynamic learning environment, Childcare Workers should be able to perform the following physical demands on a regular to frequent basis as needed:

• Lift and carry children (up to 50 lbs.), including kneeling, bending, stooping, stretching, or squatting to interact with children;
• Using fingers and hands to manipulate small objects;
• Running short distances;
• Sitting on the floor;
• Bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching out;
• Moving arms and legs quickly;
• Coordinating movement of several parts of the body such as arms and legs, while the body is moving.

Other:

• Successful background check, reference checking, and drug screening clearance.
• Acknowledgment of and agreement with GAC’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
