Loveland High School Media Aide (Tier II)
Assist the professional staff by providing technical and clerical services that facilitate the learning activities of students and contribute to an effective operation of the media center by performing the following duties.
- Valid certificate/license as issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help the media specialist oversee the general operation of the school media center.
- Read with students and assist students in finding resources for individual projects/interests.
- Assist students in the use of the electronic online catalog, Dewey decimal system and reference materials.
- Ensure safety of students.
- Assist with the supervision and discipline of students in media center.
- Assist students and teachers in the proper selection and utilization of media center materials.
- Maintain procedure for the checkout, return, and re-shelving of all media center materials.
- Circulate print and non-print materials.
- Issue overdue notices to homerooms and individual students.
- Operate media center equipment, e.g. projectors, computers, cameras, laminators etc., and assist teachers in the operation of the same. Report non-working equipment so that maintenance can be arranged.
- Maintain on-line catalog for print and non-print materials.
- Assist in maintaining records of circulation, fine money, lost and paid book money and in depositing money in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all media center equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Maintain files of supply catalogs and inventory of supplies.
- Complete routine processing of books, magazines, and audio-visual materials.
- Make book repairs.
- Keep an inventory of media center materials.
- Prepare requisitions and purchase orders for library books, magazines, reference materials, and other pertinent items under the direction of the media specialist.
- Make contact with the public with tact and diplomacy.
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information.
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, and parents.
- Promote good public relations.
- Attend applicable in-service meetings or training.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on audio-visual and other equipment.
- Supervise parent and student volunteers.
- Participate in the promotion and organization of book fairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Library/Media Services Director or designee.
- Assist the media specialist in the general control and discipline of students.
- Schedule the use of the media center and audio visual equipment.
- Train, supervise and schedule volunteers.
- Participate in the promotion, organization, and operation of book fairs.
- Operate audio-visual equipment, Chromebooks/other technology equipment and charging station and assist teachers in the operation of the same.

16. Frequent requirement to push and pull up to a maximum of 100 pounds, e.g., carts and equipment.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

SALARY:
Based on training and experience in accordance with the district salary schedule.
