Greater Commonwealth Virtual School is Hiring a School Psychologist Near Greenfield, MA

Job Title: School Psychologist

Department: Special Education

Reports To: Special Education Director

Job Summary: To utilize a unique blend of training incorporating skills and knowledge of psychology and education to provide services that address the educational, behavioral, and social emotional needs of students through consultation, assessment, and training.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Demonstrate outstanding written and oral language communication skills.
  • Assist in the identification and placement of students with educational disabilities, including the facilitation of comprehensive evaluations across various disciplines.
  • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations of individual student’s needs using formal and informal techniques including norm-referenced measures of cognitive ability/processing, academic achievement, behavioral/social/emotional functioning, adaptive skills, executive functioning skills; observations; interviews with parents, teachers, and other professionals; heath and developmental histories.
  • Provide consultation to parents, teachers, and school administrators. • Collaborate with community-based evaluators and service providers.
  • Assist with in-service training of school personnel.
  • Attending appropriate in-service training programs, staff meetings, and individual student conferences as requested by the supervisor and in compliance with established district guidelines.
  • Keep all student and school related information confidential in accordance with federal and state guidelines and Board policy.
  • Adhere to established federal, state, and local laws/regulations and ethical guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
  • This is a full time, virtual (online) position.

We’re seeking a psychologist who can apply their unique skill sets to our proven, virtual home-based model of education. Flexibility and the ability to embody reflective practices on an ongoing basis are essential.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree 30 hours of clinical work or Doctoral degree in school psychology from an accredited university.
  • Licensed as a School Psychologist by the Massachusetts Department of Education.
  • Previous school psychologist experience preferred.
