Greater Lansing Association of REALTORS is Hiring an Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Specialist Near Lansing, MI

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Specialist to manage and oversee the organization's financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external guidelines. The specialist will handle both AR and AP functions, contributing to the overall financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable:

  • Generate and send out invoices to brokers and members.
  • Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
  • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Process credit card payments and refunds.
  • Prepare and maintain accounts receivable reports.
  • Assist in month-end closing by providing required AR information.
  • Communicate with brokers and members to resolve billing discrepancies and respond to inquiries.
  • Maintain and update customer files and records.

Accounts Payable:

  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payment.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Maintain vendor files, including contact information and payment terms.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
  • Assist with month-end closing by ensuring all AP transactions are recorded.
  • Prepare analysis of accounts and produce monthly reports.
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or 2 years of experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable or a similar financial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-volume transactions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
