The Position

We are looking for an energetic, organized and timely dance instructor. The Dance Instructor is responsible for high quality lessons and participant engagement. This individual must maintain high personal standards and adhere to and carry out the mission of the Greater Midland Community center. This is a part-time position, up to 19 hours/week working afternoons, evenings, weekends and special events.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high quality programs that are results-based driven, with proper planning and engaging lesson plans.
  • Work cooperatively and professionally with all program participants, parents, Greater Midland Staff and Volunteers.
  • Ensure that facilities, equipment and supplies are secured for each program session.
  • Ensure that character development is present in all programs (caring, honesty, respect, responsibility).
  • Complete, in a timely manner, all requests from supervisor in the achievements of department and center goals/objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Preschool age Ballet and Hip-Hop experience as well as ballet/point experience
  • Energetic and organized
  • CPR/First Aid/AED, preferred
  • Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Possession of one-year instructional experience for beginning level classes and three years’ instructional experience for advanced level classes is preferred, but not required
