Green Horizon, Inc. is Hiring a Plant Technician Near Coachella, CA

The Role: Join our team as a Plant Technician, where you will play a hands-on role in the management of our plants. This includes executing pruning, leafing, Integrated Pest and Fungus Management, and assisting in harvest and transplanting operations.

  • Carry out direct plant management tasks such as pruning, leafing, placing, and managing trellis.
  • Execute Integrated Pest and Fungus Management strategies.
  • Assist in plant moving, staging, and all transplanting activities, and harvest.
  • Troubleshoot and identify disease/pest issues and irrigation problems. Qualifications:
  • Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age (in compliance with state regulations regarding employment in the cannabis industry).

· Familiarity with Cannabis Cultivation: A strong understanding of cannabis cultivation practices, including cloning procedures, nutrient requirements, and pest management, is preferred. Previous experience working in a cannabis cultivation facility is advantageous.

  • Attention to Detail: The ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail is crucial for ensuring the health and vitality of cannabis plants. Candidates should demonstrate precision and accuracy in tasks such as cloning, transplanting, and maintaining plant health.
  • Legal Compliance: Must have a clear understanding of and ability to comply with all state and local cannabis regulations. This includes following all operational rules, guidelines, and health and safety mandates.
  • Education: While not always required, a background in horticulture, agriculture, botany, or a related field is advantageous. Relevant coursework or certifications demonstrate a commitment to professional development in plant sciences.
  • Experience: Prior experience in plant cultivation, preferably in a greenhouse or indoor grow setting, is essential. Knowledge of plant care techniques, including cloning and propagation, is highly desirable.
  • Teamwork Skills: The ability to work effectively as part of a team is essential in a fast-paced cultivation environment. Candidates should be collaborative, communicative, and able to coordinate with team members to accomplish tasks efficiently.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to engage in physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to work in various environmental conditions such as heat, humidity, and exposure to the scent of cannabis.

Understanding of Environmental Controls: Basic knowledge of environmental controls, including temperature, humidity, and lighting, is beneficial. Candidates should be able to monitor and adjust environmental parameters to optimize plant growth and health.

· Compliance with Regulations: Familiarity with local and state regulations pertaining to cannabis cultivation is desirable. Candidates should adhere to all legal requirements and maintain a thorough understanding of compliance standards.

· Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to troubleshoot issues such as nutrient deficiencies, pests, and diseases is valuable. Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving challenges in the cultivation process.

· Reliability and Punctuality: Dependability is crucial in a cultivation setting where consistent care is essential for plant health. Candidates should demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.

· Passion for Cannabis Cultivation: A genuine interest in cannabis cultivation and a commitment to producing high-quality products is important. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for the industry and a desire to contribute to its growth and success.

  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check as required by state cannabis regulatory agencies.
  • Certifications: Must be willing to obtain any necessary certifications related to cannabis cultivation or safety as required by state law (e.g., pesticide application certification).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
