- Crisis Communications Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Executive Communications and Managing Director of BD & Marketing on crisis communication efforts, including press outreach when necessary.
- Visual Identity Stewardship: Direct the firm’s visual identity, ensuring consistent and appropriate usage across all channels.
- Brand Messaging Leadership: Lead the development of our brand’s messaging and creative expressions.
- Stakeholder-Centric Approach: Proactively collaborate with senior staff leadership to shape brand messaging for non-BD areas.
- Integrated Communication Programs: Ensure seamless integration and optimization of all external communication initiatives.
- ROI Enhancement: Partner with Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and website/social media teams to enhance ROI on external communications.
- Media Strategy Oversight: Provide oversight to the PR manager, leveraging external media agencies and directing media strategy for key firm events.
- Collaboration with Peers: Work closely with other Marketing & Business Development leaders.
- Team Management and Mentorship: Manage, train, and mentor the Marketing Communications and Graphics teams, including four direct and six indirect reports.
- Bachelor’s Degree: Required in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years in marketing communications, media, and/or public relations within a large global law firm or professional services environment.
- Advanced Degree: Preferably in Marketing or Business.
- Client Service Focus: Navigate complex, matrixed organizations while prioritizing client needs.
- Relationship Building: Establish credibility and strong relationships across practices and geographies.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated success in managing, leading, and mentoring teams.
- Effective Communication: Strong writing and verbal skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse stakeholders.
- Digital Proficiency: Proven experience in website development, maintenance, and social media platforms.
- Attention to Detail: Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Diplomacy and Judgment: Handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and sound judgment.
- Effective Prioritization: Manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines.
- Urgency Response: Address urgent needs beyond regular hours.
- Analytical Thinking: Outline methodologies for easy adoption by others.
