Strategic Program Development: Develop, teach, and monitor comprehensive programs aimed at enhancing attorneys' professional and client services skills, as well as technical and practice-specific legal competencies.
Program Evaluation and Enhancement: Measure and assess the effectiveness of training programs, ensuring alignment with firm objectives, and modifying or replacing programs as needed to meet evolving needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Forge strong relationships with firm management, practice group leaders, and attorneys to identify training needs and determine the most effective delivery methods.
Content Management and Innovation: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance program delivery, update existing content, and introduce new learning opportunities, ensuring relevance and engagement.
Lifecycle Programming: Develop and expand training programs tailored to all stages of the attorney lifecycle, from orientation and onboarding to ongoing professional development.
University Leadership: Direct the evolution and delivery of internal training programs, ensuring alignment with firm growth and talent development goals.
Attorney Onboarding and Compliance: Manage attorney orientation, integration, and onboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience for new hires and overseeing CLE compliance firmwide.
External Relationships and Networking: Maintain relationships with external consultants, coaches, and professional organizations to stay abreast of industry trends and developments.
Mentorship and Advisor Programs: Oversee and enhance the firm's mentorship and advisor programs, fostering a culture of support and professional growth.
E-Learning and Technology Integration: Assess e-learning opportunities and develop digital programs to address practice group needs and enhance learning outcomes.
Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing training and development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Budget Management: Oversee the training and development budgeting process, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to support program objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in attorney professional development, preferably within a law firm setting, with a background in big law as a corporate associate highly desirable.
Juris Doctorate required, with a strong understanding of attorney career progression, adult learning principles, and program design.
Proven track record of designing and implementing effective professional development programs, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and maintaining a client service orientation.
Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members and build strong relationships across attorney populations.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
High level of discretion and judgment when handling confidential and sensitive matters, with a commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards.
