Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk with 1-2 years of experience to join our finance team. The Payroll Clerk will assist in the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role is crucial in maintaining employee satisfaction and trust through meticulous handling of payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Assist in preparing and processing bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Data Entry: Input and update employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates.
  • Timekeeping: Verify and reconcile employee timecards and attendance records.
  • Deductions and Benefits: Calculate and apply various deductions (e.g., taxes, benefits, garnishments) accurately.
  • Records Maintenance: Maintain and organize payroll records, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Reporting: Generate payroll reports and summaries as needed for management and audits.
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Compliance: Stay informed about and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in payroll processing or a related field.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
    • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
