Green Key Resources is Hiring a Public Tax Accountant Near New York, NY
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and manage the prep and review of company federal, state, and local tax returns and ensure accuracy of all tax form filing
- Maintain client relationships on day-to-day tax compliance and consulting matters
- Plan overall return calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with the tax team
- Locate and implement opportunities for process improvement in tax procedures
- Through research, develop and execute new strategic tax planning for all necessary taxes
- Monitor new tax law developments, legislation, and trends to ensure quality client service
- Facilitate IRS income tax audits and prepare responses and create schedules
- Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections
- Provide support with various internal audits and other tax-related projects
- Supervise and train staff while also managing and accessing the workflow of team resources
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field required
- CPA License preferred
- At least 5 years in tax compliance and consulting
- Excellent accounting, analytical, and research skills
- Experience supervising and managing a team
- Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures
- Ability to utilize project management and prioritize tasks
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, & QuickBooks
