JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Early Intervention Director

-Competitive Salary

Division/Location: Seeds of Change - Center for Early Intervention, Montpelier VT

Reports to : Melinda Neff, CEO

Employment Status: Full Time, exempt

Job Overview: Seeds of Change - Center for Early Intervention is where young learners grow! The Seeds of Change Director will ensure all operations and interventions run smoothly to benefit our learners. The Director will team with the Seeds of Change staff to cultivate a positive workplace and a welcoming environment for children, families, stakeholders and staff.

Responsibilities (not exhaustive):

  • Review and complete initial assessments and treatment plans for insurance authorizations.
  • Conduct and review indirect and direct assessments utilizing approved insurance based assessments such as the VB-MAPP, PEAK, & ESDM.
  • Create, review and implement applied behavior analysis intervention plans and programs focused on skill acquisition (social skills, play skills, adaptive and communication skills) as well as behavior management strategies.
  • Review BCBA’s graphed data as it pertains to treatment goals/objectives and behavioral data.
  • Provide on-going supervision, BST training, coaching, and program modeling to behavior technicians, assistant behavioral consultant (ABC) or BCBA’s.
  • Provide written and oral feedback to BCBA’s, behavior technicians and ABC.
  • Conduct, facilitate and parent trainings with BCBA’s.\
  • Review and adjust BCBA’s weekly schedule to ensure they are maximizing weekly, monthly and quarterly billable expectations.
  • Conduct weekly check-in’s with BCBA’s to review their schedule and to assist with maximizing billable hours by filling in and providing supervision to any client that is short on hours.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of clients and families based on HIPAA policies and laws.

Climate and Culture

  • Director will engage and create organizational behavior procedures that align with GMBC’s mission to create a culture built on compassion.
  • Creation and implementation of reinforcement systems for BCBA’s and BT’s that aligns with the culture.
  • Generate and write/amend handbook policies and procedures
  • Enforce and ensure policies are being adhered to by supervisors (BCBA’s) as well as behavior technicians.
  • Review policies and procedures with new staff members as well as review of the handbook
  • Ensure staff adhere to policies and procedures as listed in the company handbook.
  • Provided staff with written formal write ups and Performance Support Plans as needed.

Systems Management

  • Set up staff in the Rethink platform, Microsoft accounts and assist in training new employees on the system.
  • Ensure Rethink appointments are generated/amended/canceled based on current session.
  • Periodic session note reviews are conducted throughout the week to ensure staff are completing and verifying each session accurately.
  • Director will monitor and record employee attendance forms, ADP payroll platform, and review staff timecards each Friday for accuracy and report discrepancies to HR generalist. .
  • Manage vacation calendars and requests.

Staff Recruiting and Supervision

  • Monitor staff performance periodically within various locations throughout the day to ensure everyone is on task, and minimize behaviors that may impede client treatment.
  • Hiring and managing candidates through the Indeed account for BTs.
  • Assist with the onboarding and training schedules and plans for new employees (new employee checklist).
  • Updating and managing time off requests for vacation and sick time as well as updating the staff calendar.
  • Manage and record staff attendance using the call out form , coordinate sub coverage and communicate with families, and substitutes.

Supervision

  • Engage in regular supervision with the CEO to discuss policies, staffing concerns, building concerns/issues, and other items as identified by the team.
  • Bi-weekly meetings with each BT within the assigned facility.
  • Weekly meetings with BCBA’s to review billable expectations and hours
  • Ensure that BCBA’s are contributing to the Seed’s reinforcement system and participate in awarding positivity tickets to staff.
  • Assist with personnel issues and work directly with HR/CEO to resolve issues.
  • Run profitability reports and review with the director and CEO.
  • Review Key Performance Indicators with staff as assigned.

Site Maintenance

  • Program and schedule for maintenance on the building, ensure materials and supplies are being ordered, shipped and stocked within the clinic.

Other

  • Generate a weekly/monthly parent newsletter to discuss happenings at Sprouts and information pertaining to particular topics in Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Provide periodic trainings on topics as determined by Director.
  • Other duties as identified and assigned by CEO.

  • Knowledge and competence of Microsoft Word, Excel, Rethink and other platforms used at Sprouts.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, maintain a flexible attitude and be instrumental in making the environment less hectic for our learners and co -workers.

Education/Experience Preferred:

Minimum: Masters degree

BCBA licensed and credentialed - preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Working in a center for children with disabilitiesmay require:

  • the ability to physically lift and move 30 lbs.
  • to squat, twist and turn, run, jump, play on the floor, stand for periods of time.
  • be outdoors with appropriate attire.
  • to talk, hear, listen, see and to interact with the children at the center.
