We are looking for individuals who are team-oriented, accountable, and professional, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail. Flexibility and a willingness to learn are essential, as additional tasks may be assigned as necessary to support the smooth operation of the business.

Budtenders will be expected to have industry knowledge and experience to assist customers in selecting suitable cannabis products. The responsibilities of the Budtender include a range of duties from customer-facing interaction to back-of-the-house fulfillment and other tasks.

For customer-facing interactions, budtenders will be expected to greet and assist customers, demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills and provide knowledgeable product information. Budtenders will be expected to be able to answer customers’ questions regarding the different methods of consumption, responsible usage, the effects of the different strains of cannabis and their medicinal properties. They will also be responsible for accurately finalizing the transaction and ensuring that the customer leaves with a positive experience.

For back-of-the-house fulfillment, budtenders will be expected to verify that all customers have a valid medical card, accurately fulfill customer orders and enter into the POS system, and assist with side work such as packaging, prerolls, labeling, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Following opening/closing protocols and completing all required tasks in a timely manner.
• Verifying a patient's medical card with a valid government-issued ID.
• Accurately fulfilling patient orders through Weedmaps, kiosks, phone or in-person.
• Accurately entering all patient orders into the POS system.
• Accurately accounting for all register transactions.
• Maintaining consistent information and answering patient questions clearly.
• Ensuring excellent customer service to all patients.
• Awareness of licensing laws, restrictions and limits for patients.
• Assisting with packaging, labeling and other tasks as necessary.
• Actively assist in keeping Weedmaps products accurate in real time.
• Knowledgeable of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits.
• Accurately weighing and packaging flower as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least two years of retail or other customer service related experience required. Cannabis industry experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

This is largely a mobile position that requires standing, kneeling, bending, crouching, stretching or walking throughout the work day.

Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift items up to 50 pounds.

Frequently communicates with team members and supervisors. You must be able to clearly exchange accurate information.

Ability to work in an environment with exposure to kief, strong cannabis odors, and some degree of solvents and cleaning product odors.

Additional Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid government-issued ID.

Authorized to work in the US; proper employment documentation.

Must have valid drivers license and personal transportation.

Must be willing to conduct a criminal background check and have no violent crime or controlled substance felonies.

Full-Time employment with the ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.

Must meet requirements for valid Maine Office of Cannabis Policy RIC and IIC identification cards.
