Greenbriar Animal Care Center, a two-doctor, small-animal hospital, is searching for the next experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

We are looking for compassionate, motivated team players who are committed to excellent client service and outstanding medicine. This is a great opportunity for those who have 2 years of prior experience and are looking to step into a more hands-on role.

The ideal candidate:

• 2 years of experience
• Comfortable around small and large animals
• Prior experience with animal restraint and cleaning
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
• Committed to a career in veterinary medicine with an interest in growth and ongoing training
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends

Primary skills/responsibilities:

• Anesthetic induction and monitoring
• Blood draw and IVC placement
• lab work and microscopic evaluation
• Gentle patient handling and restraint
• Client communication and education
• Cleaning and disinfecting the hospital
• Carrying out tasks as requested by the veterinarian or technician team

Greenbrier Animal Care Center is located in Chesapeake, VA, about 10 miles from downtown and 20 minutes from Virginia Beach. We are fortunate to have a truly remarkable team and a talented husband/wife DVM duo that provides personal and compassionate care to our community. We primarily see small animals and operate Monday-Friday. We are well-equipped to provide routine GP/soft tissue procedures, dentistry, light orthopedics, ophthalmology, and more.
