GREENE COUNTY GENERAL HOSPITAL is Hiring a Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Director of Provider Relations Near Linton, IN

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Rural Health Clinics (RHC), this position is responsible for overseeing activities related to fostering positive relationships with the providers of the Rural Health Clinics. This includes developing processes, policies, and procedures that support high quality, efficient, and cost effective delivery of care. The Provider Relations Director is responsible for the establishment of best practices for the clinics, in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, clinic Providers, Medical Director, and CMO. The Provider Relations Director is a member of the My Clinics Executive Leadership Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all providers are performing their jobs effectively and that patients are receiving quality care.
  • Gathers feedback from providers and implements improvements based on their input
  • Assists Executive Leadership Team with the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures, especially those that have a direct impact on clinic providers.
  • Participates in recruitment, interviews, selection, discipline and evaluation process for clinic providers.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for clinic providers in regard to operational and policy questions.
  • Manages provider vacation requests and provider scheduling.
  • Assists the Medical Staff Office with gathering information needed for medical staff credentialing.
  • Collaborates with the CEO to manage physician contracts.
  • Leads the orientation process for providers.
  • Tracks and manages CME requests and approvals for providers.
  • Assists the RHC Executive Director to identify operational priorities.
  • Manages special projects and quality improvement activities as assigned by the RHC Executive Director.
  • Ensures compliance with the Rural Health Clinic regulations.
  • Ensures that the RHCs providers operate according to federal and state guidelines and contributes to GCGHs mission and goals of client satisfaction, quality of care, and productivity.
  • Ensures approved policies and procedures are followed providers and initiates any changes or corrections to policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with the Quality Department to measure quality metrics and implement improvement plans with providers
  • In collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, strategizes the organization’s short-range and long-range program goals, particularly in organizing and planning.
  • Serves as a leader, representative and spokesperson for the organization to the greater community.
  • Promotes teamwork with physicians, staff, leadership, and all health care providers.
  • In conjunction with the RHC Executive Director, collaborates with providers to determine operational needs and find solutions.
  • Collaborates with hospital leadership to develop effective and efficient workflows for the sharing of information and easing patient transitions of care.
  • Acts as a liaison with patients and their representatives, physicians, and employees, to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • In collaboration with the CMO and RHC Medical Director, assesses educational needs of providers and works with the Executive Leadership Team and the GCGH Education Department in developing or securing appropriate outside resources to meet identified needs.
  • Keeps Executive Director of Rural Health Clinics informed of any unusual concerns, situations, events, or conditions relative to staff, patients, families, or providers.
  • Attends required hospital and department committee meetings. Attends in-service and seminars to maintain skills in areas of responsibility in order to serve as a resource person to staff.
  • Assesses and recommends improvements in EMR processes to ensure efficient and effective documentation and tracking of financial and quality data.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the budget.
  • Acts as back up for the RHC Executive Director in the event of their absence.
  • Completes chart audits of providers
  • Maintains a high level of public recognition and interaction with the medical community and the local community at large, to maintain the future success of the clinics.
  • Ensures provider practices support exemplary, safe, and high-quality care of patients and families.
  • Demonstrates a leadership role through daily work, effective management, and teaching.
  • Directly supervised the Clinical Support Analyst to ensure that the EMR is used to it’s full capacity to support clinic operations.
  • Resolves providers issues and keeps the lines of communication open with providers to ensure high employee morale in a professional atmosphere.
  • Develops safety and quality plans that support exemplary workplace and care practices, while also supporting a culture of safety.
  • Participates in administrative call.
  • Initiates coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action in a supportive manner in accordance with the hospital policy.
  • Ensures that workplace environments are safe and that strategies are in place to prevent physical and psychological harm.
  • Demonstrates clear ownership of workplace and patient safety.
  • Reports mistakes, near misses, adverse events and quality and safety concerns.
  • Protects patient confidentiality and abides by all HIPAA and Privacy Laws.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred. Coursework or degree in management or healthcare related field preferred.

Experience: At least five (5) years relevant clinic experience required. Experience in management or supervisor role preferred. Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations. Knowledge of guidelines and requirements for applicable Regulatory agencies, such as Joint Commission and OSHA. Personal computer skills required. Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers. Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements: Frequent walking, standing, and sitting. Frequent reaching, stooping, and bending. Good visual acuity.
