Greene County Schools is Hiring a MTSS Reading Interventionist Near Snow, NC
POSITION TITLE: Middle School Reading Interventionist STATUS: Full-Time REPORTS TO: Principal EVALUATED BY: Principal POSITION SUMMARY: The Middle School Reading Interventionist will provide direct service to students who are not yet performing at grade level in reading. The interventionist will use teaching strategies and resources aligned with the district MTSS framework. The interventionist will maintain progress monitoring data and participate in school and district level data review and MTSS meetings. The interventionist will maintain ongoing communication with the school MTSS Coach, administrators and teachers to aid in planning and implementing interventions for students who need supplemental and/or intensive support. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ? Expertise in the teaching of reading and understanding of 6-8 ELA standards and instruction ? Growth mindset ? Demonstrated effectiveness as a classroom teacher and teacher leader ? Demonstrated success in the planning and delivery of literacy instruction with attention to individual student needs ? Ability to analyze formative, benchmark, and progress monitoring data to drive instructional planning and delivery ? Strong foundation in pedagogy and teaching methodologies ? Experience facilitating professional learning JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Provide direct service of students and maintain progress monitoring records as required by the district MTSS framework ? Understand and support MTSS implementation ? Communicate and work with the school MTSS coach, administrators and instructional coaches ? Participate in school and district level MTSS meetings ? Participate in professional learning in order to improve skills and knowledge required to effectively fulfill position responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Ability to visit school locations as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities 2. Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, students, administrators and coaches 3. Physical stamina to handle challenging work schedules 4. Respect for students, teachers, parents, and support staff 5. Ability to exercise sound judgment on sensitive issues 6. Ability to attend and lead various meetings This is a full time, 10 month position.
