Precision CNC Machinist

Greenlight Optics is seeking a motivated, talented CNC diamond turning machinist to join our company. The selected candidate will become a key member of our technical staff. The main responsibility will be programming, setup, and operation of an Ultra-Precision Lathe using Single Point Diamond Turning to produce precision lenses, mirrors, and optical molds. Diamond turning is a specialized type of CNC lathe machining using multiple axis to produce optical surfaces. While setup and operation of the diamond turning machines is the primary focus of the position, other responsibilities include stock roughing, CNC mill and lathe operation, CAM programming, setup, and in-process inspection. The position requires a willingness to work closely with other machinists and engineers to complete complex projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled machinist that is interested in working with cutting edge technology and producing exceptionally accurate and high-performing optics for a variety of interesting applications.

Required Skills/ Experience:

• CNC lathe programming and setup
• Strong general machining skills
• Works well with others
• Strong analytical skills, mechanical aptitude, and problem solving required
• Must be detail oriented and take individual responsibility for doing quality work

• Diamond turning experience
• CAM programming
• Tight tolerance machining and inspection
