In this capacity, the Senior Manager, Public Relations will:
- Identify, manage and deliver opportunities for the firm to elevate its profile and reputation in the market through media coverage and other external communications channels;
- Provide ongoing PR and communications, handling day-to-day inbound and outbound media relations, identifying proactive opportunities to pitch media and responding to media inquiries;
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant reporters and editors;
- Take the lead on drafting and editing of PR and communications materials, including press releases, pitches, media briefings, messaging, Q&As and presentations;
- Build and nurture effective relationships with partners and other key stakeholders; earning their respect as a trusted advisor;
- Prepare partners and other stakeholders for media engagement, including developing materials such as briefings, key messages and talking points;
- Ability to influence and build trust with individuals at all levels of an organization, including senior and executive-level personnel;
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
- Sound judgment and excellent attention to detail; and
- Familiarity with business and legal terms and lexicon.
- Bachelor’s Degree (required);
- At least 10 years of communications experience (required), preferably in a legal or professional services environment or a similar B2B environment; PR agency experience is a plus;
- Significant media relations experience; Existing legal and business media relationships a plus;
- Experience managing team members; and
- Experience developing and implementing PR/communications plans and activities.
