Greenprint Partners is Hiring a Manager, Strategic Communications and Equitable Engagement Near Seattle, WA

Greenprint Partners is seeking a Strategic Communications and Equitable Engagement Manager based in the Seattle area to join the Greenprint team. This is an exciting opportunity for you to support a growing portfolio of community-centered, climate-resilient infrastructure programs for public sector clients in the Pacific Northwest (including clients such as King County Wastewater Treatment Division). You will be responsible for fostering strategic communications and equitable engagement that drives large-scale public water quality programs to generate strong community impact.
You are a great fit if you are: passionate about working at the intersection of communications and engagement; a strategic thinker who can create structure out of ambiguity; and an experienced project and relationship manager who can support complex programs while engaging multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
You will join a dynamic, growing, and caring team in Seattle (you must be based in the Seattle area), led by Vice President, Rose Jordan and will report directly to Rose. This office is currently remote, so for the foreseeable future this is a work-from-home position with regular in-person engagement for project work and team meetings.

Role
You'll be a driving force behind community communication and collaboration, working hand-in-hand with the Vice President and our clients. Together, we'll spearhead communication and engagement strategies, propelling public sector programs towards their goals. Your task? Transforming scopes of work and client aspirations into tangible, top-tier deliverables that resonate with impact and excellence.
Communications Strategy
  • Lead development of external and internal communication strategies, plans, and protocols, including goals, audiences, key messaging, strategies, tools and tactics, and timelines;
  • Supervise and guide the work of multi-disciplinary teams of communications and engagement sub-consultants;
  • Facilitate content reviews with stakeholders, and plan and schedule distribution across various channels;
  • Lead market research, including survey development, analysis, and report-writing;
  • Lead quality assurance and quality control on written documents, ensuring alignment with program-specific style guides; and
  • Lead measurement and evaluation of communication efforts, including developing and implementing continuous improvement processes for adjusting strategies based on data-driven insights and preparing reports on communications outcomes.
Engagement Strategy
  • Lead strategies related to equitable engagement, including relationship building with local community-based organizations, translation and transcreation, community compensation, community access to decision-making, and IAP2 spectrum strategy;
  • Advise clients on strategies to support engagement with tribes, local governments, and the media; and
  • Develop interested parties registers and manage interested parties outreach, tracking, and reporting.
Program/Project Management
  • Plan and facilitate meetings with multidisciplinary teams, including program managers, engineers, community relations, government relations, and others;
  • Plan and execute public events such as presentations, focus groups, webinars, and open houses and represent programs at local fairs and festivals; and
  • Prepare and deliver clear and concise memos, reports, presentations, and other deliverables to clients, community groups and stakeholders.
Business Development Marketing
  • Support local business development efforts by building relationships with current and prospective clients, preparing proposals, team resumes, project examples, and leading interview preparation;
  • Manage local content and collateral development, including reports, presentations, and marketing materials; and
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and operations, to support additional marketing needs and ensure cohesive communication.
Desired Experience and Characteristics

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in areas such as: strategic communications, public outreach, business development, public program management, or other related fields;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to a diverse audience, and basic proficiency in graphic design;
  • Demonstrated excellence and integrity in equity and environmental justice, stakeholder engagement, and frontline community partnerships, and navigating diverse stakeholder perspectives and priorities;
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to effectively develop project plans, manage budgets, oversee project teams, and meet or exceed client expectations;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, stakeholders, community-based organizations and residents;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and in a team; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google software suites, including but not limited to PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Google Slides, and Google Docs to translate strategies into visually compelling presentations and meticulously crafted documents.

Work Environment & Required Travel
  • As a remote employee, you will be responsible for providing your own home office space and high speed internet.
  • This role requires local travel around the Seattle area and schedule flexibility for occasional (1-2) evening and weekend community meetings each month.
  • As Greenprint grows, this role may expand to support projects across the Pacific Northwest that may require occasional travel for onsite project work or community meetings. Additional national travel to the Chicago headquarters and for relevant conference participation is anticipated at least semi-annually.

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary for this position will be based on experience and qualifications and ranges from $78,750 - $115,500. In addition to base salary, all Greenprint staff participate in our annual discretionary profit-sharing program.
