Position: Benefits Manager
Location: Atlanta, GA - primarily remote
Overview: The Benefits Manager will manage the day-to-day administration of the company’s benefits and retirement plans. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in benefits administration, managing diverse benefits and retirement plans.
• Administers the company’s health and welfare plans, such as the medical, dental, life, disability, FSA, HSA, and COBRA.
• Administers 401(k) plan, including implementation and communication to employees and facilitate annual 401(k) audit with support from payroll and finance.
• Advises and informs employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
• Manage the benefits enrollment and administration processes including the annual open enrollment process, employee qualifying life events and new hire benefits orientations.
• Monitor carrier feeds/resolve issues and inconsistencies. Partner with HRIS Manager and TPA for Benefits.
• Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure elections/enrollments/payroll deductions are accurate across the HRIS and Benefits systems and 401(k) vendor.
• Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives.
• Generate reports and analytics to support strategic decision making.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA and ACA
• Reconciles benefits accounts to payroll records and vendor billing statements.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the HRIS and enrollment system related to benefits and retirement plans.
• Manage the company’s leave of absence program and ensure the leave programs (FMLA, Parental, STD, LTD and ADA) are managed in compliance with state and federal laws with help from external agencies.
• Responds to Associate requests and inquiries regarding benefits, 401(k) and wellness initiatives.
• Extensive knowledge of employee benefits plans.
• Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• High degree of confidentiality, discretion, and tact.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience administering benefits programs required.
• Highly knowledgeable with all aspects of employee benefits programs
• Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare group insurance and general benefit policies, practices, and legal requirements
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
