Join GreenSpark Solar as a Solar Customer Care Specialist! In this role,you will be a key member of our customer service team, dedicated to providing exceptional support to our clients who have invested in solar energy solutions. You will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing guidance on solar system operation and maintenance. You will engage with customers post-installation to enhance their understanding of solar and energy projects. You'll play a crucial role in transitioning our Customer Care department from reactive to proactive, by developing processes and programs that provide self-help resources, educational content, and regular communications. This position focuses on eliminating existing service issues and implementing preventive measures to avoid future incidents, supporting the growth and efficiency of our Service department.
The Solar Customer Care Specialist day to day responsibilities include:
  • Perform remote troubleshooting and system diagnostics for customer PV systems, collaborating with third-party partners as needed.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via email and phone, providing technical support and system guidance.
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors and utilities for repairs at commercial sites when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Customer Care leadership and other departments to develop and refine processes.
  • Assist in data and ticket reporting, and manage O&M Technician site-visit schedules.
  • Triage service calls requiring onsite visits and technician support, scheduling truck rolls and managing billing through Salesforce.
  • Maintain accurate records, analyze data, and manage invoicing and backlog using Salesforce.
  • Communicate effectively and frequently with customers, ensuring clarity and satisfaction.
  • Conduct educational phone calls with customers regarding billing and system operations.
  • Liaise with commercial site owners, providing updates on repairs, scheduling, and billing.
  • Manage service calls and maintenance for utility-scale solar arrays, coordinating with utilities and subcontractors as necessary.
  • Gather information and support warranty claims, offering assistance to field technicians as required.
  • Provide feedback data to improve processes across departments involved in solar installations.
  • Flexibility to handle high-priority customer responses outside regular business hours, including weekends.
These Are Our Education & Qualification Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in Customer Service and/or Project Management preferred.
  • Knowledge of the solar industry or renewable energy sectors is highly advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of solar energy systems or willingness to learn technical aspects quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a personable and energetic demeanor.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in customer and account management tools, experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk, Solmetric) and ticketing systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable handling pressure and uncertainty with a composed and professional approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve customer issues effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks efficiently.
