Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the District’s budgeting and forecasting processes, reconciliation, and maintenance of financial reporting systems, and researching variances in actual results from budgets and prior year reporting. This position will also manage the District’s risk management function, which includes coordinating with the insurance broker and carriers as needed to ensure that complete and accurate claims information is provided on a timely basis, managing and processing claims and payments, and annual completion of commercial coverage applications and renewal documentation. This role will assist the accounting team in the month-end close process, as needed, by recording standard and recurring journal entries, reconciling selected balance sheet accounts, and preparing charts, memos, and other support to be included in the monthly board packet. At all times, the Senior Financial Analyst will work to identify significant financial trends, opportunities for process improvement, and perform all work with GSP’s best interest in mind.
Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

- Preparing insurance applications for commercial coverage lines gathering and validating all required financial and statistical information.
- Monitor daily activity reports, noting items that may result in claims against GSP or damages for which the District should seek recovery, obtaining applicable reporting from public safety agencies and sharing information with broker and carriers as needed.
- Coordinate flow of financial data to/from ERP and other software such as Power BI, X1, Nexonia, etc. Validate the data for accuracy.
- Research and report on monthly financial results, leveraging ERP and BI tools to produce charts, memos, PowerPoint presentations, internal financials and other items required for effective reporting to management and Board of Commissioners.
- Prepare standard and recurring journal entries as needed, with appropriate professional documentation and backup.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet account schedules and reconciliations, as needed.
- Implement and maintain the fixed asset module within Sage Intacct.
- Provide backup support for finance functions such as accounts payable, payroll processing and accounts receivable.
- Assist Director of Finance in preparing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and coordinating the related annual audit.
- Ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in either accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
Experience
- Seven (7) years professional experience in general ledger accounting, auditing, or financial management and support.
- Experience in a public agency and/or airport setting, highly preferred.
- Experience with Sage Intact or other ERP systems, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial analysis.
- Working knowledge of financial statements and trial balance.
- Highly proficient in financial modeling in MS Excel.
- Problem solving skills using a logical, systematic, and analytical approach.
- Ability to communicate financial information to operational leaders outside of the Finance department.
- Proficient in reconciling data sets from disparate systems.
- High level of proficiency in the use of a personal computer, including skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and accounting systems.
- Proficiency with prioritization, organization, and verbal and written communications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and exhibit good public relations under all conditions.
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism when interacting with District staff, tenants, customers, and representatives of local, state, and federal agencies.
- Adherence to work safety procedures to reduce potential risk of injury in work areas.

- Must be able to complete and pass pre-employment/post offer checks to include, but not limited to, background, drug, references, education, and DMV, as required by the Federal Government, aviation-related authorities and the District.
