GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Diesel Equipment Technology program at Greenville Technical College provides students with an understanding of diesel equipment systems with emphasis on "over-the-road" or "long-haul" trucks. The Diesel Technology certificate is designed to prepare graduates with the necessary technical skills to become a diesel heavy equipment mechanic. The student will receive a well-rounded education including basic knowledge and mechanical theories with significant hands-on experience. Graduates will have a solid foundation of knowledge to confidently execute the well-acclaimed ASE certifications. There are three (3) full-time Automotive faculty plus supplemental adjunct instructors. Program options include Diesel Equipment Technology - Certificate in Applied Science; Diesel Engine Performance - Certificate in Applied Science; Heavy Equipment Chassis Systems - Certificate in Applied Science; and Heavy Equipment Auxiliary Systems - Certificate in Applied Science.

* OEM Training: Cummins, Detroit, Kobelco, Caterpillar, etc. * An Associate Degree OR at least five (5) years experience * CDL License * ASE Technician Status (all areas) * Teaching and/or training background
