Pay: $23-$23.50/hr

We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office at 3458 Enterprise Avenue Hayward, CA 94545 and limited job-related travel may be required.

Position Summary:

GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Heavy Equipment Operator to provide support to one or more facilities. This role’s main function will operate industrial grade equipment efficiently while observing all safety protocols.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures to ensure safety.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to follow directions, daily procedures, and protocols.
• Ability to work near others while handling / moving debris / recycled material.
• Ability to adapt to constant changing conditions, stay on task.
• Report all damages occurring during the shift to the facility and or equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• The ability to distinguish between different material streams with ease to separate the material properly.
• A fundamental command of use of equipment while maintaining an open mind to alter operations. Be punctual, and reliable in order to minimize disruptions to the day-to-day operations.
• The ability to work as a team and work well with others.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

Language Skill:

• Proficiency in English and/or Spanish

Physical Demands:

• Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders to access equipment, and sit for extended periods of time.

Work Environment:

• Requires working in a fast-paced work environment where there is exposure to loud noises, heat, cold, sharp objects, and odors.
• Requires the use of a hard hat, safety glasses, work boots, safety vests, hearing protection and gloves at all times.
• Work shifts vary. Regular workday may be anywhere from 4-10 hours depending on the daily tonnage.
• Working overtime is required.
