Greenwood Elementary School is Hiring a Speech Language Pathologist (long-term sub) Near Wakefield, MA

Position Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Greenwood Elementary School & Dolbeare Elementary School

Summary: 

Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to cover a long-term leave. This position will start mid-September, 2024 and will end early December, 2024. This position is for 5 full days per week, hours consistent with the Unit A contract. 

Qualifications:: 

  • Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology
  • Licensed SLP in Massachusetts
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children strongly preferred

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders in students
  • Utilize standardized tests, observational methods, and other assessment tools to evaluate student needs
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and student needs
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students individually or in small groups
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring speech and language services
  • Participate in IEP meetings to provide insights and recommendations regarding student progress and goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom environment
  • Provide consultation and training to educators and parents on speech and language development and strategies
