Job DescriptionGreenwood in Augusta is looking for a Pipefitter. A Pipefitter is responsible for preparing, assembling, and repairing pipe systems of various shapes, sizes, and pressures. The fitter should be able to field route structural steel pipe supports for equipment and piping systems. Strong mechanical aptitude is a plus. Responsibilities
Assembles and repairs pipe systems
Ensures proper placement and alignment according to blueprints, specifications, diagrams, schematics, or instructions
Manages tools issued and inspects, repairs, and properly handles tools
Ensures an ethical and fair testing environment during periods of testing
Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after all welding processes
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent with 1 year of experience in various forms of pipefitting required; greater than 1 year of experience in various forms of pipefitting with extensive knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the related field preferred
Must have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the related field (increased knowledge required with higher levels of this position)
Must have excellent attention to detail, a focus on accuracy, and a sense of urgency
Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work
Must be able to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and welding symbols
Must demonstrate a high level of customer service and strong communication (both listening and speaking) and interpersonal skills
Must be able to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Completion of an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty preferred
Must have the ability to use and provide personal hand tools and equipment common to Pipe Fitter Trades
