Salary Range $22.16 to $31.12/hour based on 2021-2022 salary schedule
POSITION SUMMARY: The High School Head Custodian maintains an attractive sanitary and safe facility by performing a wide variety of cleaning and maintenance functions in both the facility and grounds around the facility; provides adequate arrangements for meetings, classroom activities and events; and minimizes property damage, loss and liability exposure, ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner. This position may instruct other custodians assigned to the facility. ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS – QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Required: Prior job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibilities,
preferably in school and/or institutional setting.
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
of insurability; Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance; current First Aid /CPR Card SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Methods and use of cleaning materials, equipment, and supplies
Safe work practices
Use of cleaning agents; supplies and equipment
Perform basic math to calculate accurate dilution of cleaning agents
Performing safe work practices
Working from heights of up to 30 feet
Providing leadership to others
Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
Communicating effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, such as providing instructions
Understanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions
Functioning as a self-starter, who works well independently or in a team
Planning, prioritizing and completing assignments with minimum supervision
Handling multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously
Adjust to flexible assignments often with short notice
Maintaining and generating appropriate reports and documentation, ie: Ipm, Asbestos, Building Life and Safety, Playground, etc.
Developing effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community
Interacting with persons of different age groups and cultural backgrounds
Fields and field care, playgrounds care and maintenance, bleachers care and maintenance
Tracks, Turf, Fields, Long Jump Pit, Playgrounds care and maintenance, Bleachers and Stadiums care and maintenance.
Auditorium, Stage and stage craft, Theatrical Lights
Pool and Pool House Maintenance
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs general cleaning and overall maintenance of school facilities (i.e. classrooms, offices,
multi-purpose rooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment
Follows a cleaning schedule within an area of responsibility developed by appropriate personnel
Ensures energy conservation practices are in use
Operates all equipment (e.g. lifts and ladders) in a safe manner
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to:
sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time
climb stairs and ladders
talk and hear conversations in a potentially noisy environment
use arms, wrists and hands in repetitive movements such as grasping and squeezing
use precise control of fingers and hand movement, often in a repetitive motion
reach for and handle objects such as tools
operate controls requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Bending, stooping, kneeling and lifting up to 60 pounds or moving by pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds may also be required on occasion.

The cost is $71.50 and is the responsibility of the employee.
