What we’re looking for

A Foreman, serving as the company's field point of contact over self-performed field labor activities, is a pivotal leadership role. As the first level of leadership, the Foreman is responsible for ensuring that each project is safely completed on time and within the budgeted cost estimate while meeting management and customer objectives for safety, quality, and schedule. The Foreman leads by example, performing production work while effectively guiding, directing, and training Greystone craft personnel. This frontline leadership role requires the Foreman to produce and utilize management tools such as (but not limited to) time cards, daily reports, safety inspections, and quality control inspections on a daily basis. The Foreman must also foster a positive team environment, motivate the crew, and ensure adherence to best practices and company standards.

Major expectations & accountabilities

  • Take complete and total charge of the day-to-day of production field operations for the project while meeting management and customer objectives for safety, quality and schedule.
  • Coordinates with Greystone Office to ensure that the appropriate staff, equipment and materials are on hand to safely complete quality work on-time according to customer expectations.
  • Enforce all Company safety policies, OSHA policies and other applicable safety standards. Hold tool box safety meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Responsible for efficient utilization of labor, equipment, materials, & other resources.
  • Ensure production activities are optimized to project safety, schedule, cost effectiveness, ease of operations, and profits.
  • Coordinate the efforts of Greystone craft personnel, to ensure work complies with standards and meets contract requirements.
  • Ensure all assigned equipment is operational, maintained and in good working order.
  • Understand project scope and estimated labor hours to manage completion of project within budget.
  • High degree of ingenuity and creativeness related to field decisions.
  • Attend pre-install or other applicable meetings.
  • Conduct team meetings to provide clear communication between all team members and assign tasks and responsibility of completion.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • 10 plus years of commercial construction experience with an emphasis in leadership roles. 
  • Must be comfortable with high intensity work environment.
  • High level of motivation, integrity, and commitment to team and customers.
  • Strong work ethic, decisive, ambitious, with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional work.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as required.
  • Results-orientated with proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
  • Able to apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills to projects and challenge.
  • Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations.

Qualifications that can set you apart

  • Five of more years of experience being a Foreman in commercial construction. 
  • CPR/First Aid, OSHA 30, and USACE Quality control trained.
  • Proven ability to finish work on time and with a high level of quality.
  • Able to travel to various sites to manage the duration of projects.
  • Having a strong understanding of safety protocols on-site.
  • Having a two year trade school in construction.
