What is the SolarCorps Fellowship Program…
GRID Alternatives’ SolarCorps Fellowship Program is an opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic community members to join GRID Alternatives for an 11-month paid service term. In this position, you’ll gain valuable experience in the renewable energy and non-profit industries while making significant contributions to communities most impacted by environmental and economic injustice!
The Opportunity…
We are looking for a SolarCorps EID (Equity, Inclusion & Diversity) Program Development Fellow to join our Headquarters team and to execute EID Operations efforts. This position will be remote and will work directly with the EID team and multiple departments. Through their work, the fellow will gain skills in professional relationship building, facilitation, logistics, and program management that will be transferable within any type of work. This position is an excellent opportunity to grow your human skills and to learn GRID from the inside out. The fellow will have the opportunity to do the following:
  • Work on EID related projects for GRID under the direction of the Director and Project Coordinator
  • Collaborate with GRID staff to work on projects and develop strong relationships.
  • Supporting the EID team in research, facilitation and developing curriculum for trainees, staff and external partners.
  • Partner in the development and administration of department goals, systems, and projects.
Some specific projects for this role may include…
  • Helping roll out, pilot and plan logistics for our new EID 101 for staff.
  • Supporting internal communications by updating our Haystack page so staff are informed of any EID events and resources.
  • Cataloging our EID resources so staff can find what they need for their own learning and that of their team.
  • Facilitating and coordinating the affinity Group the Protostars, a space where our SolarCorps Fellow can come ask questions, learn and be among community.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to create systems and structures to improve the efficiency of our team
  • Room to grow this role in new directions based on experience and interests.
What you need to bring to this role…
  • Strong skill-set in EID (Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity) efforts and learning.
  • Readiness to give feedback to leaders and team members.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and interest in conflict resolution tactics.
  • Familiar at change management - comfortable in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to prioritize and a nerdy admiration for processes plus a desire to create new ones!
  • Effective and flexible interpersonal, phone, and written communication skills.
  • Highly resourceful team-player - willing to seek answers on their own and support the team and GRID Alternatives overall.
  • Proficient level of MS Office and G-Suite platforms.
  • Flexible, diligent, trustworthy, discreet, able to learn and retain new concepts and technology quickly.
It would be great if you also had…
  • Experience in the Equity, Inclusion, & Diversity
  • Experience supporting leaders in a project management (or related administrative) role.
  • Experience in facilitating virtual and in-person sessions
Let's Talk Money...
  • Hourly wage of $19.61 for 11 months (Mon, Sept 16, 2024 - Thurs August 15, 2025)
  • End of term award of a to be determined amount of money upon successful completion of fellowship
