What is the SolarCorps Fellowship Program…
GRID Alternatives’ SolarCorps Fellowship Program is an opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic people to join GRID Alternatives for an 11-month paid service term. In this position, you’ll gain valuable experience in the renewable energy and non-profit industries while making significant contributions to communities most impacted by environmental and economic injustice!

The SolarCorps Fellowship Program is part of the AmeriCorps network of programs. SolarCorps is made possible with funding support from CAVolunteers and JPB Foundation.
The Opportunity...
The SolarCorps Multifamily Project Management Fellow will learn what it takes to put a solar system on a multi-family project from start to end. The position is primarily remote office-based administrative support although there may be opportunities to visit sites or installations and learn about system installation
  • Learn about the affordable housing and non-profit sector
  • Learn to evaluate solar potential, construct-ability, utility bill analysis, financial analysis, policy and solar design for affordable multifamily buildings
  • Develop solar-related educational materials for affordable housing owners
  • Assist in processing solar incentive paperwork and managing application processes
  • Assist staff with preliminary designs
  • Help organize and maintain project information in Salesforce
What you need to bring to this role…
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • High computer literacy
  • Ability to learn and retain new concepts and technology quickly
  • Be comfortable in working with diverse communities
  • Interest and enthusiasm for renewable energy, community development, helping families and communities in need
  • When working remotely, you must have access to a reliable internet connection. GRID will provide a laptop, charger, and headset when remote working is required.

  • Experience with basic statistical analysis and reporting
  • Experience with Excel

  • Hourly wage of $19.61 for 11 months (Mon, Sept 18, 2023 - Thurs August 15, 2024)
  • End of term award of a to be determined amount upon successful completion of fellowship

GRID Alternatives Headquarters, Oakland CA. This position is remote, although there may be occasional travel to the nearest regional office.
