This position reports to the CFO
Basic Function
The Finance Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves the preparation of financial reports, managing budgets, and providing support for audits and tax filings.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues.
2. General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and report on significant deviations.
4. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
5. Compliance and Audits:
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Prepare and submit tax filings and other regulatory reports.
6. Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
7. Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems.
- Stay updated with financial regulations and best practices.
8. Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company objectives.
- Provide financial training and guidance to non-finance staff as needed.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification a plus.
