Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin. BETTER TOGETHER

This position is Hybrid, but will have to be able to come onsite as needed.

Under the general supervision, guidance and direction of the Insurance Operations Manager, the Enrollment Team Leader is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and maintenanceof all membership and employer data for GHC-SCW members and group accounts, including Medicare and Medicaid. This position serves in a leadership role within the department. The incumbent provides daily operational guidance and direction to the Enrollment staff and assists staff on complex questions and problems. Additionally, the incumbent participates in premium billing and collection activities. The incumbent is also responsible for responding to the large volume of inquiries from employer groups, members and from providers regarding eligibility status. The Team Leader is responsible for assisting with supervision of the day-to-day operations of the enrollment team including (i) evaluating and making recommendations on appropriate staffing levels based on work flow, projects, and objectives, (ii) participating in interviews, selection, orientation and training of new employees, (iii) providing input on staff performance, including conducting performance evaluations and making training recommendations, (iv) assisting in scheduling staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels based on workflow and projects.(v) functioning as resource for staff on department policies and procedures. (vi) participating in staff meetings to communicate changes and address issues that need to be discussed, (vii) addressing customer concerns/complaints as they arise, and (viii) attending appropriate organizational meetings.

JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  2. A minimum of two (2) years of administrative office experience is required. Experience in enrollment, billing or in insurance or HMO related environment is required.
  3. Extensive knowledge of and /or ability to learn Medicare, Medicaid, Federal and State enrollment regulations required.
  4. Demonstrated leadership experience in an insurance or healthcare environment is highly desirable.
  5. Ability to participate in the training of other staff is required.
  6. Ability to be flexible and be a team player is required.
  7. Ability to recognize, identify and report problems is required.
  8. Knowledge of and /or ability to learn procedures and practices related to HMO, medical services billing and enrollment, and knowledge of and /or ability to learn insurance enrollment software such as EPIC is required.
  9. Knowledge of computers including ability to use various software packages such as MS Office Suite, email, and scheduling is required. Experience in the operation of a PC, and 10-key adding machine is preferred.
  10. Ability to ensure that the daily work of the department is completed.
  11. Ability to prioritize workload during heavy workload periods is required.
  12. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
  13. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality required. Knowledge of or ability to learn HIPAA requirements.
  14. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse populations are required, including strong listening skills both on the telephone and in person.
  15. Ability to work independently is required.
  16. Ability to concentrate and maintain accuracy in spite of frequent interruptions is required.
  17. Ability to file numerically and alphabetically is required.
  18. Ability to analyze, write, plan, explain and investigate is required.
  19. Ability to use a keyboard extensively is required, including the ability to accurately type 40 w.p.m.
  20. Ability to sit extensively, stand, kneel, and lift intermittently is required.
  21. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds is required.
  22. Visual acuity is required.
  23. Ability to work irregular hours and overtime when needed is required.
  24. Ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively with all personnel and the public is required.
