GroupM is Hiring an Associate Director, Growth Operations Near New York, NY

Role ContextYou, as our Director, New Business are responsible for the integrity of all new business and day-to-day operations, providing experienced business development strategy, content and logistical support. We know you are well-known for being a self-starter with a highly service-oriented approach. You’ll report directly to the Executive Director of New Business
At GroupM, growth is a top priority both in our people and our work, and this team serves as the agency’s spine. This role goes well beyond “keeping the trains running on time” to partnering with pitch teams to elevate pitches and helping to embolden the agency’s story and future.
What will you be working on? Driving GroupM’s strategic positioning, driving revenue growth by building relationships and closing new business, supporting an integrated business development plan and facilitating cross-selling opportunities and lead generation with a spirit of creative optimism.
Core Responsibilities
  • Evaluate opportunities to determine appropriateness and soundness
  • Monitor consistent pipeline of $25MM /10 pitches at any given time
  • Engage and correspond with prospects through every stage of the pitch process
  • Establish full understanding of prospects’ businesses as basis for all presented work
  • Formulate communications strategies and recommendations consistent with prospects’ objectives
  • Strategically construct and write RFIs, RFPs and pitches
  • Assist in selecting and coaching pitch teams, monitor prospect feedback and debrief Executive Director
  • Execute and attend experiential pitches to C-Suite decision makers
  • Identify and showcase agency’s best work and growth potential capabilities to construct case studies
  • Effectively manage consultant relationships before, during, and after each pitch process
  • Inject fun and efficiency into pitch process
  • Shape and support an integrated business development methodology
  • Monitor quality control of daily workflow
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal departments ensuring work is delivered consistently and on time
  • Field global and internal requests
  • Execute weekly business development status
  • Assist with department financial management
  • Keep abreast of current/cultural events, media trends and any target market industry trends
  • Foster a collaborative environment which encourages intelligent risk taking, innovation and creativity
  • Delegate work effectively to teach direct reports, as well as deliver seamless work to prospects
  • Guide, counsel and mentor junior staff on day-to-day activities
  • Evaluate direct reports’ performance accurately, objectively and constructively
  • Comfortably and effectively communicate to all levels, especially senior leadership
  • Demonstrate ability to work successfully within a team as well as independently
  • Continually seek innovative and breakthrough ideas, approaches and solutions
  • Quickly adapt in high-stress situations and work well under pressure/deadlines
  • Keep all work-related information confidential as necessary
  • Demonstrate acute attention to detail

  • 8-10 years’ experience in Media Agencies

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $100,000 to $230,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
