Grow West is looking for a Warehouse Assistant to join our Woodland Purchasing team. Your daily responsibilities will include loading and unloading products for customers, managing inventory, and maintaining equipment and on-site operations. We seek someone who can bring a balance of skills in warehouse management, inventory control, organization, time-management, and attention to detail to help Grow West’s business across the communities and customers we serve.

Responsibilities

• Greet and screen incoming visitors/customers in a professional manner and promptly notify the appropriate person of their arrival.
• Ensure an uninterrupted flow of materials, supplies, and services required by the company to operate on a daily basis.
• Perform yard maintenance as directed.
• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for discrepancies and damages, and report problems promptly to the appropriate person.
• Prepare items accurately for shipment according to customer orders/instructions by retrieving from the warehouse, packaging, weighing on a scale, and documenting correct shipment details.
• Store materials and supplies within the warehouse according to part number and/or description by safely performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and stacking by hand or using material handling equipment.
• Sign for incoming deliveries and load/unload delivery trailers/trucks by hand or with material handling equipment as needed.
• Maintain shipping and receiving documentation in a neat and orderly manner.
• Report shipping and receiving details to the appropriate department on a regular and timely basis.
• Maintain the warehouse and receiving area in a safe and orderly manner.
• Assist with physical inventory management, including weekly and monthly inventory counts and reconciliation with computer balances.
• May assist with entering purchasing information in the computer and generate related reports for inventory control, purchasing, and receiving purposes.
• Receive and sign for packages and deliver them to the appropriate person promptly.
• Create and implement an organized filing system for various company documents.
• Operate standard office equipment including a multi-line telephone system, facsimile machine, photocopy machine, calculator, and computer/printer.
• Maintain a professional office environment and promote a positive image for the company.
• Apply knowledge of service areas to dispatch sufficient coverage and ensure delivery schedules are met.
• Operate communication equipment efficiently to properly communicate with drivers and maintain related equipment in optimum working condition.
• Resolve operational and delivery problems that require immediate attention.
• Load and off-load trucks safely using forklift and ramp systems.
• Assist drivers as needed with loading and unloading trucks.
• Adhere to and follow all safety procedures in accordance with approved training and report any dangerous conditions to management immediately.

Language Ability

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; MerchantAg; Microsoft Edge; MapQuest; Product Label Searches (MSDS).

Education/Experience

One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
