Position Overview:
The Development Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the organization's development projects and initiatives. This role includes budget planning, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations. The Development Finance Manager will work closely with project managers and senior leadership to ensure the financial health and efficiency of development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage annual and multi-year budgets to meet the organization’s needs.
Prepare periodic budget forecasts and adjustments to ensure alignment with project goals and organizational requirements.
Conduct financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making for development projects.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows).
Provide detailed financial reports and analysis to project managers and senior leadership.
Prepare and maintain cash flow analyses to ensure sufficient funding for development projects.
Monitor cash flow to anticipate and address funding needs.
Oversee and select appropriate financing and funding sources for development projects.
Ensure compliance with financing requirements and reporting obligations.
Manage the financial aspects of grants and other funding sources.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
Assist in preparing year-end books financial statements and documentations to collaborate with external auditors as needed.
Manage vendor payments, check requests, and employee reimbursements including managing and reconciling employee credit card charges and accounts.
Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts as assigned.
Assist in reconciling all balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis as per the closing schedule.
Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders.
Respond to inquiries from staff and stakeholders regarding budgets, deposits, disbursements, and financing reporting requests.
Payroll Processing:
Process payroll and report payroll taxes for the organization.
Provide financial training and support to project managers and other staff involved in development projects.
Perform basic office management duties as requested to support the team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
Proven experience in financial management, preferably within a development or project-based environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget management.
Experience with grant management and compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Other Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
